As part of exploring how AI can support marketing, I decided to see how it could help me understand Microsoft 365 users. Using ChatGPT, I created a detailed customer persona, researched top keywords, and generated blog content tailored to Microsoft.
Customer Persona for Microsoft
The persona I created is Rachel Lawson, a 35-year-old operations manager who relies on Microsoft 365 to stay organized, collaborate with her team, and manage multiple projects efficiently. I guided AI with targeted questions about demographics, psychographics, and behavioral traits to ensure the persona felt realistic and useful for marketing purposes.
Information Needed
To create this persona, I asked ChatGPT to structure the information I had into a complete profile.
Prompt: “Create a customer persona using the following demographic, psychographic, behavioral data, etc.”
- Demographics: Age, location, job, education
- Lifestyle: Hobbies, responsibilities
- Behavioral patterns: research habits, trial-first purchasing approach, brand loyalty
- Goals: Improving team productivity, simplifying workflows, saving time
- Challenges: Cost concerns, complex setup, hesitation in switching from other software
Non-Providable Information
Some specific data, such as income, family background, and prior experience, wasn’t available. I asked ChatGPT to make informed assumptions based on common patterns among Microsoft 365 users.
Prompt: “Based on general knowledge of prospective Microsoft 365 users, guess likely interests, behaviors, and characteristics using common user patterns.”
From this, AI suggested likely social media use (LinkedIn-heavy), spending habits, lifestyle traits, and common work priorities.
Generating Customer Persona
Once all the information was compiled, I asked ChatGPT to create a complete persona.
Prompt: “Using this information, create a complete customer persona.”
The result: Rachel Lawson, 35, operations manager in a mid-size company, lives in a suburban area, highly organized, efficiency-driven, uses Microsoft 365 daily for email, documents, file storage, and collaboration. She researches tools online, and prefers trying before subscribing.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Keyword Research
To identify popular searches related to Microsoft 365, I asked ChatGPT:
“Make a list of the top 5 keywords people use to find information about Microsoft on Google.”
The top keywords were:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
These keywords show what potential Microsoft customers are interested in.
Content Creation
Blog Post ideas
Using the prompt: “Write 10 blog post ideas about Microsoft 365 that this customer persona would search for,” ChatGPT generated blog posts tailored to Rachel. Some examples include:
- Why Microsoft 365 Subscription Is Worth It for Professionals
- Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace: Which Fits Your Team Best?
- Streamlining Workflows for Small Businesses with Microsoft 365
I decided to focus on “Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace: Which Fits Your Team Best?” because it gives reasons for the decision between two software.
Writing a Blog Post
I asked ChatGPT to draft the blog post.
Prompt: “Act as a blogger with expertise in Microsoft 365. Write a blog post titled ‘Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace: Which Fits Your Team Best?’ Use an informal, first-person tone and avoid passive voice.”
The blog covered collaboration, workflow optimization, offline access, setup ease, pricing, and practical tips–written for a professional like Rachel.
Social Media Post
Next, I asked ChatGPT to create a LinkedIn caption for the blog.
“Not sure whether Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace is right for your team? 💻 Collaboration, project management, and productivity all depend on the platform you choose. Let’s break down the pros and cons so your team can focus on getting work done, not wrestling with tools. Read the full guide!”
Image Creation
Finally, I asked AI to generate a visual to go with the blog: a business professional who uses Microsoft 365 across multiple devices, highlighting productivity, organization, and a modern workplace. This could be used as a blog header or a social media post.

Last Remarks
Exploring AI capabilities in researching Microsoft 365 was very insightful. I was able to develop a realistic persona and draft real blog and media posts, while still getting to use my creativity. It is fascinating to see how AI continues to evolve every day, and getting to use it as a tool is rewarding and enjoyable.
